This wonderful wood originates in North Western America and South Western Canada. It has also been introduced to the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. It is a soft red / brown timber and is valued for its:
- distinct appearance,
- aroma and its aromatic oils,
- high natural resistance to decay,
- light weight
It has many other uses such as: shingles, screens or hedges, guitars, sail boats and kayaks, moth repellents but not forgetting beehives.
